But I have been back at uni for over 2 months, the work that I planned to do over the summer never happened, I just lost my motivation and told myself I'd do it tomorrow. I did do a few drawings over the summer which I am proud of and also got the idea for my final year project finalised.
My project is called The Individual in a Crowd.
"I am looking at creating artwork around the idea of crowds, people and the individual. My artwork began as drawings of people in public places being taken out of the context of their surroundings. In this project I am wanting to focus on people within a crowd, looking more at the individual reaction of people rather than the whole crowd reaction. I want to look at also is the relationship between the individual and the crowd."
This is my proposal brief that I gave to my tutors, they seem to really like the idea and want it to develop more.
At the moment I have stopped doing small detailed drawings and I am focusing on producing almost life-sized drawings of the individuals.
I am quite please with how they are developing, the later ones are ones I am particularly proud of. I have had to include alot more detail after my first attempt as it was critiqued and I was told that I had to make it much more detailed for such a large scale drawing. So I have been focused on that, drawing upto and beyond 12 hours a day, spending at least 3 LONG days on a drawing and I am producing works that I am extremely pleased with. I hope my tutors appreciate what I am doing.
Also in uni I am having to juggle doing postmodernism essays and the research that goes with it.
I decided at the beginning of this project that I was going to make a blog, including the work I am making, notes and ideas on development and artist research and gallery visits. I haven't added to it for a while but I am planning on getting it upto date very soon.
